Melamine is non-flammable and stable at room temperature. its aqueous solution is weakly alkaline, and it can form melamine salts with, sulfuric acid, aceticacid, etc. And it will be deaminated to form melamine and denser when heated under high temperature or insufficient partial pressure.
Application
1.Melamine dinnerware
Melamine is the basic raw material of melamine molding agent, which can be made into melamine tableware. This kind of tableware is non-toxic, heat resistant and unbreakable. But do not use it in the microwave or too close to the fire, or the cutlery will break.
2. Concrete Plasticizing
After sulfonation, melamine resin can form plasticizer, enhance the high resistance of concrete. This additive is primarily used to reduce the water content in concrete while still maintaining its fluidity and maneuverability while pouring and shaping. The end result is a concrete with lower porosity and higher mechanical strength.
3. Plywood and Particle Board
Melamine resin is widely used in wood processing such as plywood. In order to prevent the release of formaldehyde in particleboard, it often co-exists with urea-formaldehyde, which has the additional benefit of preventing glue bond degradation.
