Product Properties
It is non-flammable and has stable property in normal temperature. Its water solution is slightly alkaline , and can react with hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, nitric acid, acetic acid and oxalic acid etc. to form melamine. In neutral or slightly alkaline state, it can be synthesized with formaldehyde
to form various methylol melamines, but in subacidity (pH value 5.5-6.5), it can have polycondensation with the methylol derivatives to generate resin products. In case of strong acid or strong alkaline water solution, it can be hydrolyzed, the amino group is generally replaced by hydroxyl group to first ammeline first, and then it is further hydrolyzed to generate ammelide, and finally generate cyanuric acid.
